Warrior Moms Conference

Warrior Mom Con: We are warrior moms

Postpartum Progress is a non-profit dedicated to helping all the at least 1 in 7 women – Warrior Moms- who will deal with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and those who love them. It has helped, and will continue to support many in our Mom 2 community. This past July 11th and 12th, the first Warrior Mom Conference took place in Boston.

It was a revolutionary gathering of women in all stages of struggle, healing, and recovery from postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and psychosis. Here are just a few thoughts from the women who were there.

Quotes from Warrior Moms:
“Peer support really works. Women who have been through maternal mental illness need support, understanding, and healing so they can get back to being the amazing moms they are. Without that, they are held back, and that’s not okay. I saw so many women not only recognizing their own power and worthiness, but also jumping at the chance to use it to help another mother. It was amazing.” Katherine Stone, Founder of Postpartum Progress.

“We are all at different places in our journey to recovery and wellness, but one thing we all have in common? There IS victory ahead, and with the help of our village we CAN reach it!” Amber Dunn, Warrior Mom

“There is immense comfort and strength to be found in knowing you are not alone. To actually FEEL that, in person, is healing and empowering.” Julie Ende, Warrior Mom

This is a vibrant, creative, fun, and incredible group of amazing mothers who have been through it all, and who just want to do any and everything they can to help other mothers.” Lesley Neadel, Warrior Mom

I had the honor of working with the Warrior Mom Conference national sponsor Cotton Babies to create this short video. Seven moms in three cities opened their hearts and homes to me, and shared their stories of struggle and victory over their perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. It is our sincere hope that this video gets seen by as many moms as possible. Thank you in advance for sharing it for us!
