Helen is the creator and founder of Reflective Images Jewelry, the first fair-trade gold jeweler in the U.S. She and her husband, Marc Choyt, not only sell high quality gold, but to also economically support the communities sourcing the gold. Through fair trade practices in their business, she helps grow communities by investing back into them to create service centers as hospitals, schools, clinics, etc. — reinforcing the need for companies and mines to follow a similar path of conscious business practices.
Helen began Reflective Images with the intention of gaining more financial freedom and flexibility, but realized in the process that she wanted go beyond the motivation of profit only to include a business involved in social activism.
As with many business owners, she has faced huge challenges breaking into new frontiers. But that was only the tip of the iceberg.
