About Jamie

Jaime Nack is the President of Three Squares Inc., a cutting edge sustainability consulting firm specializing in developing comprehensive sustainability plans for corporate, government and nonprofit entities. Jamie also founded One Drop Interactive – an employee engagement platform maximizing sustainability management and cost savings.  She was a federal appointee to the White House National Women’s Business Council and was named the “2013 Environmental Conservator of the Year” by the U.S. SBA. Jamie was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Breaking Down the Barriers

Jamie is a game changer. Confident in her ability to break down barriers while she shines a light for those coming up in the world, needing to see what is possible.  “We really need the youth to be able to see their likeness to the leaders in front of them”.  She is an inspiring model for that in her everyday work.

In her life’s work as a private consultant and tech solo-trepreneur, she has faced many challenges by pushing the envelope in male dominated fields and has seen firsthand the barriers women face in starting new businesses and endeavors.  A major barrier faced when initially growing the idea for One Drop Interactive, the technology platform, was the challenge of getting capital investment for her project in its seed (beginning) stage. To overcome these challenges, she learned to invest in herself by investing personal funds in her project, and by ultimately believing in her ability to be successful — no matter the norms.

Interview Gems:

  • Being a game changer is seeing beyond the status quo and being able to execute your vision by pushing the boundaries and embracing risk.
  • “You can’t be what you can’t see”- It is important to inspire the next generation to reach for their dreams and see “their likeness to the leaders in front of them.”
  • Some keys to success: Building a strong, extended network can support you in moving forward with an idea and actualizing it. Seek the mentorship of those experienced people within your field. Evaluate your potential customer base and include them in the development process for a product or project.
  • “Don’t say maybe if you really want to say no” – Paolo  Coelho. Being able to pick and choose what to say “yes” to, will allow you to better focus your priorities and structure your communication so that there is a win-win in all relationships and interactions.
